DUBLIN, Calif., September 13, 2012 — Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced it has agreed to acquire privately held Solarsoft Business Systems from Marlin Equity Partners. Solarsoft is a specialist in midmarket enterprise resource planning (ERP) and management systems for manufacturing and distribution.

The Capital Assets module lets you record information about fixed assets, determine and maintain a depreciation schedule (that will interface with your general ledger and be reflected on your financial statements), and calculate the depreciation amount that you can claim on your yearly tax return. Highlights include support of a book schedule for internal reporting; depreciation journal entries and a printed depreciation journal for all assets on a book schedule; an interface with the general ledger system; user-defined accounting periods; various depreciation methods; asset retirement forecasting showing the cash necessary to replace assets; inquiries for capital asset descriptive and depreciation information; various capital assets reports on demand, including capital asset data according to location; location history logging; depreciation forecasting for one or several years; and maintenance of rental information if an asset is being leased or rented to another company.
