We have reviewed several options, immediatley excluding WrkPlan as they did not offer revenue recognition. We looked at Aspire but also found key features lacking. We narrowed the search to PROCAS and Deltek. PROCAS was able to meet all our needs and felt familiar because the developer had worked previously with Deltek. In the end however, the only reason we chose Deltek was prior experience, though PROCAS was a competitive second.
Procas is the best scalable government accounting compliant software for small businesses
Best features of the software: Licenses are scalable , you only pay for the ones you are using. All details post to the general ledger so you can always find the data you are looking for. T&E is integrated. No spending time making sure the mapping and separate platforms are working together correctly. Billing set up and processes make it almost impossible to invoice the incorrect amount. Incurred Cost Reports make filing your ICE to DCAA much easier.
Approval work flow from the system.
PROCAS is a great cost accounting system that was designed with government contractors in mind. Although its capabilities allow for it to be a great system for any company that has a project based business model.
One of my favorite aspects of the software is the integrated time and expense system. It automaticall y calculates mileage and per diem rates. I also find the audit report to be of particular usefulness. It allows for accountability when several users access the system.
The system allows for budgets but does not allow for forecasting.
PROCAS is a great full-cycle accounting system for government contractors looking for a DCAA compliant accounting system that hits all the marks, is user friendly and can be customized to meet your company’s needs. All, without spending thousands of dollars a month.
The team is consistently upgrading and enhancing the system. The menus and modules are not cumbersome and are easy to navigate.
I would like to see the budgeting/forecasting functions enhanced.
PROCAS is an excellent GovCon accounting system for small contractors who must be DCAA compliant.
Easy start, simple to use, meets regulation, low cost.
DOS look, but I know the upgrade is in the works.
