OpS Payroll is a comprehensive Canadian payroll system that calculates Employee gross pay, tracks employee deductions and benefits and calculates provincial and federal income tax, UIC and CPP. The system maintains all employee pay information including vacation eligibility and usage. The system accommodates weekly, biweekly, monthly or semimonthly pay cycles. OpS Payroll also processes and prints employee T4’s and provides a detailed audit for each employee showing the yearly summary information for each pay. Features of the payroll program include:

  • Supports Salaried and Hourly Paid Employees
  • The system supports up to 4 different overtime and 7 piece work rates
  • Each employee may have up to 8 taxable and 2 non taxable benefits. These benefits may either be paid to the employee or paid to a third party on behalf of the employee. The taxable benefits may either be a fixed amount or a % of regular salary or pay.
  • Each employee may also have up to 12 deductions. The deductions may either be a fixed amount, or a % of gross pay or a % of net pay or a % of regular salary or pay.
  • Hours may be entered directly in OpS Payroll or alternately the hours may be collected and calculated based on the time records in OpS Job Costing.
  • All standard Pay Period Frequencies are supported
  • Vacation pay is automatically accrued based on a percentage set at the employee level
  • vacation pay taken is also automatically tracked and reported
  • Manual cheques may be created where the user specifies all benefits and deductions including tax, UIC and CPP
  • The system calculates federal and provincial taxes, EI and CPP. These calculations may be run as many times as required before the pay cycle is declared complete. Once the operator specifies that the pay is complete the employee’s year to date information is updated and the pay records may not be changed

OpS Payroll has extensive reporting functions that include the following. a payroll register report; printing of employee cheques and stub details; printing of T4’s at year end on the government forms; summary report of amounts due to the government for Tax, CPP and UIC; and print out of employee data base.

  • Year end reporting including a T4 reconciliation report showing details of each pay reconciled with the year to date information, and print out of T4 information on standard plain paper.
