General Data Systems is a leading provider of information technology solutions for the Durable Goods distribution industry. General Data System’s ProfitTool Business Management Software delivers new levels of productivity in the areas of Sales Order Processing, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Customer Service and Financial Management.

ProfitTool development began in the middle 1980s with its foundation rooted in UNIX. As technology dramatically expanded throughout the early 1990s, General Data Systems leveraged its knowledge and re-engineered ProfitTool into a Windows based, network-centric business system. ProfitTool for Windows was released in January, 1997.

Both our ProfitTool for UNIX and our re-engineered ProfitTool for Windows provide powerful management tools to nearly 200 Distributors ranging from 10 to 100+ employees.

General Data System was founded in 1974 and currently consists of 22 highly energized, dedicated computer professionals who provide our Clients with unmatched system support.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, General Data Systems works exclusively with HVAC Wholesalers throughout the US and Durable Goods Wholesalers and Distributors throughout the Midwest.
