Financial Profiles, Inc. is a leading software developer specializing in products for financial services professionals. The company also offers a full line of training and Internet-related products for individuals and companies in the financial planning industry. The company was founded on the principle that to be successful, financial advisors and strategists must match clients’ concerns with appropriate products and services.
Originally led by founder, Gus Hansch, Financial Profiles began as a service bureau for insurance agents and financial advisors, providing needs analysis reports. The company used this experience to create one of the most successful software programs in the industry, Profiles+.
Profiles+ allows financial services professionals to graphically illustrate the monetary resources needed to reach education savings or retirement goals or to plan for business growth, based on individual client needs. This, paired with the product’s visual appeal and strong presentation elements, gives planners the tools they need to open, explain, and close their sales. It provides users with over 150 sales concepts, as well as graphics, images, text pages, and audit trails designed to assist planners in outlining for clients the need for long-range financial planning.
In 1997, Financial Profiles experienced rapid growth with the inclusion of a new software program, Dynamic Insurance System (now known as Dynamic Insurance Solutions), and the acquisition of two companies, Vernon Publishing and NetGroup. These additions boosted Financial Profiles’ level of service and diversity in products and helped to further position the company as the leader in needs-based selling, illustration, Internet development, and training.
Dynamic Insurance Solutions is a software program designed to help users graphically explain life insurance policies to their clients. It gives planners and advisors the ability, through vividly illustrated graphics, to help their clients instantaneously see and interact with what happens to cash values and death benefits through the life of the policy based upon different sets of assumptions.
With the acquisition of Vernon Publishing and all its needs-based selling products, Financial Profiles has expanded its position in the marketplace to cover a greater area. The addition of Vernon Publishing to the Financial Profiles family allows Financial Profiles to offer educational tools for new advisors that are entering the insurance industry.
Financial Profiles acquired Web developer NetGroup to enhance its design, multimedia, and Internet capabilities. NetGroup’s expertise in Web design has helped the company expand its Financial Services Directory, which is used for finding financial services professionals on the World Wide Web. The company now offers a Build Your Own Web Site Program, which is an interactive development engine that enables planners to create their own Web sites online.
On August 1, 1998, Financial Profiles became a subsidiary of Allmerica Financial Corporation, a Fortune 500 holding company for a diversified group of insurance and financial services companies. Allmerica has been a Financial Profiles corporate client for several years and has played a key role in the development of many of the company’s products and services. The combination of Financial Profiles and Allmerica Financial positions the company to serve client needs better than ever before.
In recent years, Financial Profiles has begun its expansion into previously untapped markets such as the banking, accounting and broker-dealer arenas. The company’s prestigious list of corporate accounts includes: AXA Advisors, Farmers Insurance Group, Waddell & Reed, New England Financial, Guardian, Jefferson Pilot Financial, John Hancock, Mass Mutual, MetLife, Old Kent Bank, and Principal Financial Group.
