emGovPower was formed in the mid 1970's; the goal of its creation was to deliver financial and billing software to local governments and utilities. The name of the company (emGovPower) comes from the company's goal to empower local government entities to handle the business demands placed on them by their governing boards and their citizens.

Throughout it's history emGovPower has adapted to and capitalized on changing technologies. This commitment to continual improvement is evident in their recent development of .NET applications.
